Antifoam 10 (Food Grade Kosher) is a water-dilutable silicone material that can be used to suppress foam in processing foods. It contains 10 % active silicone defoamer in a nonionic emulsion, and can be used in quantities up to 50 parts per million on the basis of “prior sanction” under the Federal Food and Drug Administration regulations. Although Antifoam 10 (Food Grade Kosher) is primarily used to suppress foam in processing food products, it is also often used to suppress foam in various chemical processing applications. It is especially effective in certain fermentation applications.
